Starting a Transcription

Starting a Transcription of a MeetBit Rooms Recording

If your workspace has automatic transcription of MeetBit Rooms enabled, recordings are automatically queued for transcription as soon as they're finished processing. No additional user action is needed and the Room owner will receive a notification once transcription is finished and is ready for review.

There are two ways to start a transcription of a MeetBit Rooms Recording. You may either:

  1. Start the Transcription from a MeetBit Room's Recording Page

  2. Create the Transcript with a MeetBit Room Source and then start the transcription manually

Quick Transcription from Recording Page

Transcribing a Rooms Recording from the Recordings Tab
  1. Navigate to the Recordings Tab of a MeetBit Room.

  2. Click the "Transcribe" button on the row of the recording you wish to transcribe.

  3. Confirm the action on the dialog popup.

The Transcript will then be created and queued for transcription. You will receive an email notification once the process is completed and the Transcript is ready for review.

Creating the Transcript and Manual Start

Create Transcript from Conference Room Recording
  1. Visit the Create Transcript page at https://customdomain.com/admin/transcripts/create.

  2. Click the "Conference Room Recording" tab.

  3. Choose a Conference Room Recording to transcribe from the drop down. You may search the Recordings through the Recording's start date & time, Conference Room title, or the Conference Room's ID.

  4. Click the "Create Transcript" button.

  5. Confirm the action on the dialog.

  6. On the newly created Transcript's Page, click the more menu icon on the upper-right corner of the screen.

  1. Click the "Transcribe Media" button.

  2. Confirm the action on the dialog popup.

The Transcript will then be queued for transcription. You will receive an email notification once the process is completed and the Transcript is ready for review.

Starting a Transcription of a Manually Uploaded Source

  1. Visit the Create Transcript page at https://customdomain.com/admin/transcripts/create.

  2. Ensure that you are in the "Manual Upload" tab.

  3. Provide the necessary information and upload the media source.

  4. Click the "Create Transcript" button.

  5. Confirm the action on the dialog.

  6. On the newly created Transcript's Page, click the more menu icon on the upper-right corner of the screen.

Before proceeding to the next step, we recommend that you specify the speakers of the media source by following the instructions here: Specifying Transcript Participants

Whilst MeetBit can extrapolate the speaker's names and roles using the conversation content, we recommend you specify speakers yourself for more accurate speaker labeling.

  1. Click the "Transcribe Media" button.

  2. Confirm the action on the dialog popup.

The Transcript will then be queued for transcription. You will receive an email notification once the process is completed and the Transcript is ready for review.
